How to seem SMARTER than you actually are
We all want to feel like the smartest person in the room. There is nothing wrong with that, It certainly boosts my confidence. So here I present you some ways to seem and look smarter without having to study or learn anything new.
1. Say less than needed.
This will make you seem much more impressive. People will think you keep your ideas and thoughts reserved if you say a little less than neccesary.
2. Your achievements were no trouble
Act as if your achievements seem effortless and be modest about them. This will make people think you are naturally smart . So remember , DO NOT BOAST ABOUT THEM. Because , let’s face it, nobody that’s really smart brags about it.
3. Pause before you answer a question
Take extra time before responding. This will make you seem like you put more thought into your response and makes you look interested in the question
4. Don’t react surprised
To look and seem like a leader, never act surprised about anything. This makes you seem more prepared and ready for any situation.
5. Hide your strong points.
It’s much more impressive if people find out about your strengths by accident. Again, It makes you seem modest about how smart you are.
6. Act Confident
When you walk, talk, laugh, eat.. Always act confident in what you’re doing. If you act unsure or nervous , it comes across as insecure and worried. That’s really all it takes for people to asume that your not as smart.
7. Use bigger words
The more complex the better. Use “concerned” instead of “worried” , “Enervating” instead of “Exhausting” , “Excogitate” instead of “plan”..etc.
8. Change your tone
Lower and slow down your tone of voice, this will make you seem more educated on any subject and serious about it overall. It also puts people at ease so more people will want to be with you.
9. Asking for help
Never ask for help unless completely necessary. When asking for help make it seem like it benefits them as well , so it’s more of a deal rather than a favor. Also, if it appeals to self interest, they are most likely to say yes.
10. Act as if you have a busy schedule
People tend to take advantage of other’s time, if you reserve and appreciate your time (and act as if you have a thousand of plans even though you don’t) it will make your time seem more special and they won’t take advantage of it. It also makes you look like you are leading a full-fulling and busy life style.
Well, now you know. Next time you enter a room full of people put this advice and tips into play. Practice them and soon enough you will be very confident and people will start to think that you are a GENIUS (or just smarter than average). Anyway, let me know how it goes in the comment section.
