Top 10 things to do in Madrid

Madrid is huge. It has everything you can think of. Visiting Madrid is a must-have in your bucket list. I live in Madrid currently and thinking of a good plan for the weekend is no struggle. Keeping this in mind, I created a list of the most fun activities you can do with your family and friends.

1. Visit Ikono Madrid

This abstract museum is so much fun! Each room is like a different dimension, they have their own theme. I don’t want to spoil it, but there is even a ball pit. This is definitely the place to go if you like museums that are more than just paintings (although, you can visit Ikono even if you do) It is such an instagramable place so be prepared to make photos.

2. Visit the amazing sky terraces

An example of such is found in Hotel Indigo in the center of Madrid. This one is probably one of my favorites. It is completely free to visit. The normal price for a cocktail is around 9 euros, which is reasonable being in the center. You also have great views. It also includes a terrace pool for hotel guests. It has a bar, beautiful decorations, a huge television for music or watching soccer matches, and beautiful views from the 12th floor. This is one of my most recommended sky views because of the amazing experience.

3. Underground sights

Another place I must recommend for my older crowd is La Margherita. This looks like a cute pizza place on the inside but if you ask to go to the special room, they will lead you down beautiful stairs to a hidden bar. Here they can read your tarot cards (free some days of the week), and give you amazing cocktails and meals. The drinks are served in amazing cups on theme with the club. Music is played while you take very instagramable photos.

4. Replay Cafe

This coffee shop will offer you a variety of yummy snacks while you play board games. That’s right! You can choose from hundreds of board games to bring to your table and play with your family and friends. You can play as many as you want, when you’re finished, you can buy a game you liked or merch. The cost is free if you buy beverages or a meal, if not, the price is just 3 euros per person. This is my favorite safe place when I want to spend quality time with my friends, family, or my partner.

5. El Retiro: basically a huge park

Not just any park, a park that goes on for kilometers. here you can bring your pets and picnic around. there is a huge lake where you can rent a cheap rowboat to ride and see the old buildings and the ducks. This is accompanied by live music. You can also find a book fair where famous authors can sign a copy but you can only find this for a couple of weeks per year. You can visit the place of crystal in which you can find beautiful flowers and plants for free. Next, check out the path of statues in which you can find antique statues. Also, visit the famous garden of Cecilio Rodriguez. the list goes on and on of things you can visit but the last one I will mention is for the curious people out there. Here you can also find the old abandoned zoo of Madrid
